Frequently Asked Questions
The Strategic Ordinals Reserve is powered by Ordinals Plus, a framework that brings decentralized identity to Bitcoin Ordinals. It enables verifiable authenticity, provenance tracking, and curated collections for digital assets on Bitcoin.
What is the Strategic Ordinals Reserve?
The Strategic Ordinals Reserve is a collection of significant Bitcoin Ordinals, curated using Ordinals Plus for their historical and cultural value in the Bitcoin ecosystem.
What are BTCO DIDs (did:btco:<sat number>)?
BTCO Decentralized Identifiers (DIDs) are Bitcoin-native resource identifiers that Ordinals Plus uses to reference ordinals. Each ordinal is referenced by its unique DID, allowing for standardized linking and discovery.
What is an Ordinals Plus Curated Collection?
A Curated Collection is a feature of Ordinals Plus that allows us to create and maintain organized collections of ordinals. When your ordinal is nominated and approved, it becomes part of this curated historical record on Bitcoin.
How can I nominate my Ordinal?
Connect your Bitcoin wallet, select the Ordinal you'd like to nominate, and submit it for consideration. You can include an optional message explaining why your Ordinal should be included in the Reserve's Curated Collection.
Do I need to transfer ownership of my Ordinal?
No. You retain full ownership and control of your Ordinal. The Strategic Ordinals Reserve simply includes your ordinal's DID in our Curated Collection to document its significance.
What types of Ordinals can be nominated?
Any Bitcoin Ordinal can be nominated, including images, HTML, and other content types. Each becomes part of our Curated Collection through its BTCO DID.
How are nominations reviewed?
Nominations are reviewed by a panel of experts who evaluate each Ordinal based on multiple criteria including historical significance, artistic merit, and cultural impact.
What happens after my nomination is approved?
Approved nominations advance to the next phase of consideration for the Strategic Ordinals Reserve. While approval is an important milestone, it's just the first step in our careful selection process for preserving Bitcoin's most significant cultural artifacts.
